Leagues and seasons

A league groups several tournaments into a season and keeps an overall table by adding up how teams performed in each stage.

It’s what turns four standalone tournaments into a circuit with a champion of the year.

When it makes sense

• Circuit with stages — 1st, 2nd and 3rd stage, each a tournament, with a running ranking.
• Annual season — Summer Cup, Winter Tournament and Champions Cup adding up.
• Club ranking — several competitions through the year and one overall table.

If you run a single standalone tournament, you don’t need a league.

Creating the league

Enter:

• Name and season (e.g. “City Circuit”, season “2026”)
• Description and rules — the rules apply to the whole league
• Visibility — public or restricted

Adding stages

Each tournament becomes a stage of the league, and each stage has two attributes:

• Order — its place in the calendar
• Weight — how much that stage counts in the total

Weight is what lets the final count for more than the qualifiers. Weight 1 is the default; a decisive stage at weight 2 doubles that round’s points.

How scoring is calculated

There are two algorithms, and the choice changes the outcome quite a bit:

By placement — each final position in the stage is worth a fixed number of points (say 1st = 25, 2nd = 18, 3rd = 15…). It’s the motorsport and circuit model. It rewards consistency: always finishing second can win you the season.

By accumulated points — adds up the points the team earned inside each tournament. It reflects performance across all matches, not just the final position.

When in doubt, by placement is easier to explain to entrants and less sensitive to stages with different numbers of matches.

The overall table

The league table shows, per team:

• Position in the overall standings
• Total score
• How many tournaments they played
• Total wins

It’s recalculated as stages complete.

Note Teams joining mid-season appear in the table with fewer stages played. If your rules require a minimum number of appearances, write that in the rules field — the league doesn’t drop anyone automatically for absence.

Frequently asked

Can I add a tournament that already finished? Yes. It joins as a stage and its scoring counts.

Can I change a weight later? You can, and the table is recalculated. Avoid doing it mid-season without telling entrants.

Does the league have a public page? Yes, if marked public — that’s the link you share for following the overall ranking.
