Frequently asked questions
How many matches does a round-robin tournament have?
A single leg is n × (n − 1) ÷ 2 matches; home and away doubles it. With 10 teams that is 45 matches single leg and 90 home and away. Single-elimination knockout is always n − 1 matches.
How are court days calculated?
From the daily window: as many matches fit as can be played, counting length plus break, between the start and end times, multiplied by the number of courts. Dividing the matches by that capacity, and respecting the maximum matches per team per day you set, gives the match days.
How does the end date take weekdays into account?
Match days are placed only on the weekdays you selected, starting from the start date. If you pick Saturday and Sunday, for example, 7 match days end on the Saturday of the fourth week. Holidays and surprises are not counted.
What about groups with different numbers of teams?
Teams are split as evenly as possible: 10 teams in 3 groups become groups of 4, 3 and 3. Each group has its own matches (4 teams = 6 matches, 3 teams = 3 matches), and the number advancing per group cannot exceed the size of the smallest group.
