Frequently asked questions
What is a bye and who gets it?
When the number of teams is not a power of 2 (4, 8, 16, 32, 64), the bracket needs empty slots. The teams that would face those slots skip the first round, and that goes to the top seeds. With 6 teams, seeds 1 and 2 get a bye.
How are seeds placed?
With standard seeding: 1 plays the last seed, 2 plays the second to last and so on, and the bracket is arranged so seeds 1 and 2 can only meet in the final, and 3 and 4 only in the semifinals.
How does the third-place match work?
If you tick the option, an extra game appears between the two semifinal losers, played before the final.
Do I need to sign up?
No. The bracket is generated in your browser and nothing is sent. You only need an account if you want to enter results and have rounds advance automatically.
