How to build your organization team on Torneyo: roles, invites, and collaboration

Team management dashboard with different roles and permissions

Running a tournament solo works when you have 4 teams and 1 category. When the business grows — 20 teams, 3 categories, referees, sponsors, social media — one person can’t handle it all. You need a team. And Torneyo has everything ready for you to build yours.

Torneyo’s Organization Invite system lets you invite other people to manage tournaments with you — each with the right access level, without sharing passwords, without the risk of someone messing with things they shouldn’t.

Roles and permissions: what each one can do

RoleCan do
OwnerEverything — create tournaments, invite/remove members, change org settings
AdminCreate and manage tournaments, invite members, manage teams and registrations
ManagerManage existing tournaments, edit matches, record results, manage teams
StaffRecord results, edit matches, access reports

The owner is the person who created the organization — they’re the only one who can transfer ownership. Others are invited by email and get immediate access after accepting.

How to invite someone to your team

  1. In the Torneyo dashboard, go to Organization > Members
  2. Click Invite member
  3. Enter the person’s email and choose their role (Admin, Manager, or Staff)
  4. The system sends an email with a unique invite link
  5. The person clicks the link, creates a Torneyo account (if they don’t have one), and that’s it — they’re in

The invite has an expiration date and can be resent up to 3 times. If not accepted, it expires automatically. You can cancel an invite at any time and remove members whenever needed.

Why this matters for your tournament

With a team on Torneyo, each person handles a piece:

  • You (Owner): oversee everything, handle finances, close sponsorships
  • Admin: manage registrations, approve teams, set up the bracket
  • Manager: update results, schedule matches, answer team questions
  • Staff: record goals and match reports during games

This frees you from day-to-day operations and lets the tournament run even when you’re not there.
